Spring is an optimum time for tree planting, tree pruning and tree removal.

The key to successful establishment of nursery stock is to transplant high-quality plants using good tree planting procedures and planting the right tree in the right place. Stress and physiological disorders can often be traced to improper planting practices and poor species selection. Planting trees and shrubs in the spring helps to promote better establishment. The plant benefits from being in the ground earlier in the seasons and can then begin the process of growing the roots it needs to survive.

Complete Plant Health Care

We perform timely treatments using the least invasive or toxic method to maintain pests and diseases at a level that does not cause a problem to plant health care. These treatments consist of foliar sprays, soil applications and trunk injections. The frequency and products used varies depending on the insect or disease, type of plant, its location, environment and the weather. Infestation by certain insects can cause the death of the host plant, a result that can often be prevented. Emerald Ash Borer is one of those insects. We offer trunk injected treatments of TreeAzin to protect Ash trees from this pest. Often insects and diseases are a secondary problem and the primary cause may go unnoticed. Focus should be on complete plant health care.

 

Spring Tree Fertilization

Fertilization is performed for a number of reasons, which include:
• to help replenish sterile urban soils that do not get the opportunity for nutrient recycling
• to help strengthen diseased trees
• to aid the establishment of young trees
• to provide nutrients where poor soil conditions exist
• to provide nutrients for trees growing in adverse conditions 
• to assist older trees
• to increase the rate of growth


The residual quality of our Arbor Green Pro fertilizer provides nutrient release throughout the season. This product also contains a complete package of secondary micro nutrients for healthy tree growth. Some trees may have special needs that would require a complement of additional products such as chelated iron or soil acidifiers. These would be applied where needed.
